MATERNITY:
DO YOU DO PREGNANCY ANNOUNCEMENT SHOOTS?
I do! If you’ve just found out you’re expecting and would like to make the announcement extra special, I’d love to document it for you. Just let me know when you enquire.
HOW MANY WEEKS IS IDEAL FOR A MATERNITY SESSION?
I usually recommend for you to be anywhere from 31 to 36 weeks, though if you’re up to it we can do a session all the way up to your delivery.
HOW SOON SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY SESSION?
4 weeks in advance is usually good.
CAN MY PARTNER OR MY CHILD BE IN THE PICTURES?
Of course, actually, I encourage the family to get involved, these are some really sweet and special times, and having pictures of your loved ones supporting you in photos creates beautiful memories.
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR THE SESSION?
I know it’s easier said than done but don't think too hard on the shoot, it’ll be really informal, I'll talk you through the posing but know my top priority is that you’re as comfortable as you can be. Make sure you’re well-rested and you’re in comfortable clothes.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING MY SESSION?
We’ll have a little chat and go over any questions you may have and then we start with the shoot. I like to shoot pretty candidly so I’ll let you do whatever feels comfortable and natural to you and advise you if something looks awkward on camera. I do have a few specific shots that are flattering that I like to get and will lead you through those also.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR MY MATERNITY PHOTO SESSION?
Above all I want you to be comfortable, so try to avoid clothes that feel too restricting. Flowy dresses, maternity gowns, and stretchy form-fitting dresses are perfect to showcase your bump. If you have family members joining you at your session, have them dress in flattering neutral tones.
WILL MY FINAL IMAGES BE IN COLOUR OR BLACK & WHITE?
Your gallery will have a combination of both, all images will be fully edited.
CAN I PURCHASE PRINTS FROM YOU?
Yes, there’s an option to buy your chosen pictures for print after the gallery is delivered.
WHERE DOES THE SESSION TAKE PLACE?
I love to use as much natural light as possible so I love to go outside in nature. The best time for the best lighting is at golden hour, near sunrise or sunset.

NEWBORN:
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO PHOTOGRAPH A NEWBORN?
Usually in the first 1 to 2 weeks is best.
WHERE DOES THE NEWBORN SESSION TAKE PLACE?
All newborn shoots are candid and lifestyle shots, all in the comfort of your home. It’s just you, your family, and your bundle of joy.
WHY DO NEWBORN SESSIONS ONLY HAPPEN IN THE MORNING?
Babies are usually a little sleepier in the morning due to being up all night.
IS THERE ANYTHING I NEED TO DO TO PREPARE FOR OUR NEWBORN PHOTO SESSION?
Ensure the baby is well fed and changed so they're at their comfiest.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM MY NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION?
I come to your house and we have a candid, informal, lifestyle-type shoot. This way you’re in a place where you’re comfortable and relaxed and so is the baby. I’ll talk you through some shots and poses but for the most part, I’m there to capture you during these precious first weeks as naturally as possible.
CAN OTHER MEMBERS OF THE FAMILY JOIN THE PHOTO SESSION?
Of course, it makes the session extra special to have loved ones present to share the experience with.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY NEWBORN DOESN’T SLEEP?
That’s fine, this shoot is about capturing these sweet early moments. That can be done whether your baby is awake or not.
WILL YOU BE HANDLING MY BABY?
If it’s perfectly fine with you, I will be moving and adjusting the baby as and when needed for specific shots. I’m not a huge fan of putting babies into specific poses, but capture them as they are.
MY BABY HAS VERY FLAKY SKIN. IS THIS A PROBLEM?
That’s okay! That’s nothing to worry about at all, if you’d like them edited out or the appearance of the flakes to be softened, I can do that for you.
WHAT IF MY BABY CRIES OR DOESN’T SETTLE?
Babies cry, I’m totally okay if your little one is a little fussy or uncomfortable, this is why I give extra time for these shoots, so we have a chance to work around the baby and their needs.
